
Hello - I'm Jayne Ward I've been a Makaton Tutor since 2005. I'm based in South Yorkshire and can deliver training in person or through Zoom or Teams. I have worked in both children's and adults services for many years and offer bespoke training to any organisation.

Bespoke Training
2 hours long - these workshops are tailored to your organisation and suitable for complete novices. They can also be used as a refresher or a team building day.
Please get in touch for more information , dates are arranged to fit around your teams/commitments and the workshop can be split into hourly sessions if preferred.

Core Vocabulary training
The Makaton Core Vocabulary consists of 450 signs and symbols. We teach the full core vocabulary over 4 workshops (levels 1 - 4)
Each workshop is approximately 5 hours long

Makaton Safeguarding
A more advanced and specialised workshop looking at how safeguarding can be incorporated in an inclusive way in your organisation. This workshop takes place over 2 days and can be delivered to your team exclusively.

Basic Safeguarding Skills

There are two workshops available
1. half day introduction to Safeguarding
2. Full day advanced Safeguarding workshop

Both workshops are for anyone who is new to safeguarding or needs to update their certification
​
Participants receive a Ofqual certificate and workshops are delivered on behalf of "Nuco training providers"
Makaton "Frontline" Training
​
The "Frontline" workshop can be adapted depending on your teams role and suitable for anyone who comes into contact with people who have communication or learning difficulties.
This workshop is 3 hours long and suitable for beginners or used at CPD for staff wanting to extend their knowledge.
Makaton's Watch My Needs
workshop
This workshop is designed for adults who are beginning to experience difficulties with understanding and recall, after having good understanding, recall and use of language. It is for direct use with adults with memory difficulties, who should attend the workshop sessions with a supporter.

This workshop takes place in your setting over a 5 week period (1.5 hours per week).
